RCP Round 3 grant recipients announced
On 11 December 2023, the Commonwealth Government announced the recipients of the Regional Connectivity Program Round 3 (RCP3). The full list of funded projects is available here.
Under RCP3, the Australian Government awarded 44 projects in WA, of which 41 are co-funded by the Western Australian Government and industry. A total State investment of $16.5 million (ex-GST) will enhance mobile and fixed broadband services from the Kimberley to the Great Southern Regions and will benefit 19 Aboriginal communities.
The commitment, funded under the WA Regional Digital Connectivity Program (WARDCP) includes 26 Mobile Black Spot Round 7 projects, and will enhance wireless broadband and community Wi-Fi under the RCP3 for 15 projects, covering more than 12,000 residents and businesses, across more than 36,000 square kilometres. The initiative’s successful telecommunications providers CRISP Wireless, NBN Co, Australian Private Networks and Telstra will roll out the projects over the next three years. Read the WA Government's media statement for more infomation.

Rounds 1 and 2
Under Round 1, the Commonwealth awarded an initial 12 projects in WA, co-funded by the State and industry. A further 22 projects were awarded, delivering a total of 34 projects in WA with a total State investment of $8.25 million. Several projects have been completed while the remaining projects are in progress.
Under Round 2, the Commonwealth awarded 18 projects in WA. The State co-funded 14 of these projects with a total State investment of $10.94 million under the WA Regional Digital Connectivity Program. Projects are currently progressing.
