The library service began in 1894 when the department was formed and now has an extensive collection on agriculture in Western Australia.
With the change to provision of digital information services, most of the material is housed in secure outlying storage. The location of an item is noted in the library catalogue. Visitors are encouraged to search the catalogue and ask the library staff for assistance in retrieving items located in storage. Material from the collection can be photocopied for research or private study by visitors.
The library is open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
