Fit to Trade - November edition

The Fit to trade bulletin promotes government and industry partnership across the biosecurity systems that protect and enable WA's livestock businesses to trade into domestic and international markets.

The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) describes Australia’s system for the identification and tracing of livestock. NLIS has been operational for cattle, sheep and goats for some years and, from 1 February 2018, will also apply to pigs.

Seasonal Climate Outlook November 2017

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF) system is indicating neutral chance (40-60%) of exceeding median rainfall for November 2017 to January 2018 for most of the South West Land Division which includes the Wheatbelt.

 ‘One Health’ is an internationally supported approach that recognises that the health and well-being of animals, people and the environment are closely linked and that international, national and local cooperation are needed to achieve optimal health outcomes.
