The 2020-21 season closed with 14 nests detected and destroyed in 10 suburbs and 6 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Operations spanned more than 68,100 hectares with over 3000 traps deployed. All wasp activity was limited to the Perth metropolitan area, with no regional detections. Over 540 public enquiries were received by the department, which led to four positive European wasp detections in the suburbs of Welshpool, East Victoria Park, Forrestdale and North Fremantle.
