The eConnect+ Project provides information and agtech tools to create cost and time efficiencies for WA’s primary producers.
Funded by the State Government, eConnect+ is delivering:
Extrata®
The new agricultural data sharing platform, Extrata, is the biggest and arguably the most exciting initiative for eConnect+.
Using end-to-end data encryption, Extrata gives primary producers the power to safely exchange sensitive agricultural data to derive informed and timely insights for efficient farm management.
Currently being piloted by a group of early adopters, Extrata is set to launch to the wider public in the second half of 2023. To find out more about this new data exchange platform, visit Extrata.
If you would like to register an expression of interest to become an early adopter of the Extrata platform, visit our Early Adopter Program page.
Automatic Weather Stations upgrade from 3G to 4G
Further to Telstra’s announcement that 3G will be discontinued by June 2024, the department has recently finalised an extensive evaluation of options to continue service. Work will soon commence on the upgrade of the department's automatic weather stations from 3G to 4G technology. More information will follow as the upgrades roll out.
ServiceWA
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Weather Website is now also available via the State Government’s ServiceWA app. Inclusion on the app provides another way to access detailed weather information such as air temperature, rainfall, windspeed and more.
