Good practice nutrient management requires adequate monitoring of soils and plant nutrient levels, analysis of nutrient levels to meet plant and animal production needs, the correct application technique, and the correct nutrient application rates.

Fertilisers are a large cost for farming pastures in high rainfall areas. This page is specific to high rainfall pastures (more than 600mm average annual rainfall) in the south-west of Western Australia.
