Meet Crop Protection team member- Janette Pratt
Janette Pratt is research scientist based in the DPIRD Moora office. Janette grew up on a mixed farm and station north of Northampton on the Murchison River before moving to Perth to complete a Bachelor of Science at Murdoch University.
Janette has worked at DPIRD for the last 23 years, originally as a technical officer in wheat breeding before moving to Moora in 2004 to become a farming systems development officer specialising in grazing cereals and grazing management. Janette has worked for the crop protection team at DPIRD for the last 8 years. As well as hosting the Grains Convo podcast with Cindy Webster, she is also the editor of the Protecting WA Crops newsletter and the communications officer for the Disease epidemiology and management tools project.
When she is not working, Janette farms with her husband and his family in Miling with their two kids. She enjoys going off grid camping, playing netball and hockey and is also a volunteer ambulance officer.
