Land clearing proposals are now handled by the Department of Environment Regulation, for more information please visit their website.

The laws relating to clearing of land within Western Australia changed in 2004 when amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1986 became law and sections of the Soil and Land Conservation Act 1945 and Regulations relating to land clearing were repealed.

Land clearing proposals are now managed by the Department of Environment Regulation under a permit system in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act. There are exemptions for certain types of minor of clearing. Information on Guides to Permits and Exemptions is available on the Department of Environment's website.
