Chemical requirements

Recommended herbicides

  • 2,4-D amine
  • Fluroxypyr
  • Metsulfuron

Herbicide: 2, 4-D amine (Group I) (various trade names: see APVMA link)

Active ingredient

  1. 500g/L 2,4-D amine
  2. 625g/L 2,4-D amine

Rate of product/10L water 

  1. 50mL for 500g/L 2,4-D amine
  2. 40mL for 625g/L 2,4-D amine

Wetting agent

BS-1000 from 10-25mL/10L water

Remarks

  • This is the cheapest option but a marker dye is needed to see which plants have been treated. The ester formulations, 600 and 680g/L, are registered in Western Australia at 1.3–1.9L/ha and 1.17–1.7L/ha respectively.

Remarks

  3. 25mL for 400g/L fluroxypyr

Time of application

1:400 non-ionic
