Regional businesses and organisations interested in innovation and business development are reminded to register their interest in the Regional New Industries Fund.
The $4.5 million regional program aims to grow the competitiveness of Western Australia’s regions through innovation, business growth and job creation.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is working with the State’s nine Regional Development Commissions to administer the fund in partnership with regional stakeholders.
Department Industry and Economic Development Deputy Director General Niegel Grazia said the Regional New Industries Fund provided two funding streams, one for region-specific projects and the other for state-wide projects.
“It aims to support projects and programs that build entrepreneurial and innovation capabilities and trade linkages to accelerate venture creation and economic diversification,” Mr Grazia said.
“This fund is about giving innovation and entrepreneurship a platform in regional communities.
“We are encouraging organisations that want to work in partnership to deliver projects and programs that build regional innovation capabilities to take advantage of this opportunity and register their interest in being involved.”
More information about the Regional New Industries Fund is available online.
Regional New Industries Fund is part of the State Government’s $16.7 million New Industries Fund.
