MyPestGuide Grapes

Growers and the general community can now use their smartphone and tablet devices to identify and report pests and diseases in their grapevines.

MyPestGuide Grapes app provides a mobile field identification guide to allow users to quickly search for a pest or disease of grapevines according to either the damage seen, or the type of pest or disease. Note that the Online version of MyPestGuide Grapes is currently not compatible with Internet Explorer 11, works with Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

When combined with MyPestGuide Reporter app, they become a powerful, on the spot, mobile surveillance tool. MyPestGuide Reporter allows you to easily create a report, link up to four images and send this direct to the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) for identification confirmation.

MyPestGuide Grapes

MyPestGuide Grapes is part of the MyPestGuide family of easy to use mobile applications, developed by DPIRD. They have been developed to support industry and the community to defend Western Australia’s agriculture industries and the natural environment from unusual or suspected exotic pests and diseases.

The information gathered through MyPestGuide will be used to infer WA’s freedom from pests and diseases in order to maintain access to markets. In addition, users help to maintain Australia’s pest-free status, support farm biosecurity and become participants in a new monitoring and surveillance community.

Reports are made using MyPestGuide Reporter. This can be launched from within MyPestGuide Grapes or independently. Reports can also be made on-line and viewed on a map via the MyPestGuide website. An on-line version of MyPestGuide Grapes is also available (not compatible with Internet Explorer 11, use Chrome, Firefox or Edge).

About

While MyPestGuide Grapes will assist users to identify most pests and diseases of grape vines, it is principally designed to identify exotic organisms and encourage users to report observations of any common, unusual or suspected exotic pests or diseases. The information gathered will be used to infer Western Australia’s freedom from pests and diseases in order to maintain access to markets. In addition, users will help to maintain Australia’s pest-free status, support biosecurity and protect the natural environment.

The MyPestGuide system was developed by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) with funding support through Royalties for Regions. By using MyPestGuide you will be supporting your local community, defending Western Australia’s agriculture industry and protecting the natural environment from unusual or suspected exotic pests.

Who we are

The department works with primary industries to safeguard our agricultural resources from biological threats and to maintain our export opportunities.

This app is based on a creative concept by Rob Emery and Darryl Hardie with final creation and design by the MyPestGuide project team.

The application coding is by ngperceptive.
