My role in the department

I work as a biometrician (statistician) and my role involves working with staff from a wide range of projects to support accurate analysis and interpretation of data collected from experiments and other sources.  I also manage the biometrics project.

My background

I have over 10 years experience as a biometrician with the department. Research areas that I have assisted to a large extent include sheep and dairy production, sheep and cattle worm control, crop agronomy and disease, and farm scale experimentation.  I have presented over 30 courses covering topics such as design of experiments, analysis of variance, survey design and analysis, pivot tables, GenStat software and the R statistical program.

Projects

  • Management of the biometrics project
  • Continued biometrics assistance to DPIRD projects in particular research related to the sheep and grain industries.

Key Expertise

Statistical analysis, including analysis of variance, survey analysis, and mixed models. Design of surveys and experiments, including farm scale experiments.

  • Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences with Honours in Statistics, The University of Western Australia
  • Accredited Statistician, Statistical Society of Australia Inc.
