Weather stations and radar

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development's (DPIRD) network of automatic weather stations and radars throughout the state provide timely, relevant and local weather data to assist growers and regional communities make more-informed decisions.

The station data includes air temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, with most stations also measuring incoming solar radiation to calculate evaporation.

DPIRD online weather site upgraded

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s online weather pages have been updated and enhanced.

The new site now includes an easy-to-read, drop down summary of current data for each of the department’s 181 weather stations and Bureau Of Meteorology radar information.

The new dashboard enables farmers, consultants and other users to capture and compare a range of weather data all on one page. This new feature has the ability to select a range of dates to graph, compare and analyse data.

Enjoy the improved functionality, which makes the site more intuitive and easier to navigate – particularly on mobile devices.
