Seasonal Climate Outlook January 2022

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF) outlook for January to March 2022 is indicating less than 60% chance of exceeding median rainfall for the South West Land Division (SWLD).

DPIRD is responding to the detection of the exotic pest red dwarf honey bee (Apis florea) discovered on the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s (DPIRD) Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF) outlook for summer, December 2021 to February 2022 is indicating mixed chances of exceeding median rainfall for the South West Land Division (SWLD).

From 1 January 2022, earmarking of sheep and earmarking and/or branding of cattle (including buffalo) will be optional.
