Update on the truffle pest and disease project - November 2018

Presentations on recent activities of the national project, Pests and diseases of truffles and their host trees in Australia, were given at the Australian Truffle Grower Association (ATGA) annual conference in Medlow Bath, NSW in September 2018. The project team gave three presentations at the conference:

  • Truffle tree diseases - Celeste Linde (ANU)
  • Pests of truffles - Alison Mathews (DPIRD)
  • Project overview - Anne Mitchell (Manjimup Underground)

The Pests and diseases of truffles and their host trees in Australia project is running from 29 May 2015 to 10 Jan 2019. The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), Western Australia is the lead agency in conducting this project and it involves a national project team. The project is financially supported by AgriFutures Australia, DPRID, the Australian Truffle Growers Association, Truffle Producers of Western Australia, The Australian National University, NSW DPI and Truffle and Wine Co. Manjimup.
