A bulletin has been produced to assist in the identification of insects and other related pests and molluscs as well as diseases of truffles and their tree hosts in Australian truffle orchards.

The correct identification of insects, other related pests and molluscs, and diseases of truffles and their tree hosts in Australian truffle orchards is important in deciding whether they should be considered to be a problem in the truffle orchard.

A bulletin has been produced to assist in the identification of insects and other related pests and molluscs as well as diseases of truffles and their tree hosts in Australian truffle orchards.

Common agents are detailed, although with the industry in its infancy, others are likely to be identified.

This bulletin forms part of a national research and development project funded by AgriFutures Australia and Australian truffle growers through the industry associations Australian Truffle Growers’ Association and Truffle Producers of Western Australia.

A PDF of the bulletin which provides photos and descriptions of these agents is available to download from the menu on the right hand side of this page. Alternate versions are available on request.

Growers are encouraged to contact the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Western Australia for identification of pests and diseases not included. One way to do this is to download the MyPestGuide Reporter App and then load your enquiry through the option 'MyPestGuide Reporter – Truffle survey'.
