My role in the department

Based in Narrogin, Natalie focuses on communication and extension to support farming systems that meet the challenges and capture opportunities in broadacre farming across WA. As part of the Farming Systems Innovation (FSI) directorate, she is leading development of its strategic communications plan. Natalie collects regional and seasonal information, translating this information into intelligence to inform industry, government and operational teams of current and emerging risks and opportunities to enable industry innovation through targeted analysis.

My background

Natalie has worked in communications, monitoring and evaluation and client engagement activities across several projects including soil nutrition and carbon, annual pasture legumes, and pastures for natural resource management in the wheatbelt. She was State Coordinator of Partners in Grain WA (Rural Edge) and coordinated many regional crop updates. Natalie has experience in web content, workshop development, strategic planning, coordinating regional events, providing technical information and training for growers and analysing regional intelligence. Prior to working at DPIRD, she was a Quality Assurance Field Officer in the export hay industry.
