My role in the department
My role as a research officer with the climate and weather group is to produce the monthly updates of the Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF), the monthly publication of the Seasonal Climate Outlook, monthly potential yield, soil water maps and frost maps. My current role is to inform farmers about climate variability.
I have been with DPIRD’s climate group since 2003. My first role was looking at the decision support tools potential yield calculator, flowering calculator and climate calculator. I have worked on a number of climate related joint-projects with a number of farming groups, CSIRO and University of Western Australia.
