Meredith Guthrie

My role in the department

Dr Guthrie is a research officer with the climate and weather group. She is responsible for producing the monthly updates of the Statistical Seasonal Forecast (SSF), the monthly publication of the Seasonal Climate Outlook, monthly potential yield, soil water maps, rainfall to date decile maps and frost maps. Her current role is to inform farmers about climate variability.

My background

Dr Guthrie has been with DPIRD’s climate group since 2003. Her first role was looking at the decision support tools potential yield calculator, flowering calculator and climate calculator. She has worked on a number of climate related joint-projects with a number of state and national farming groups, CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology.
