Chemical requirements

Recommended herbicides

  • Picloram + 2,4-D
  • Picloram + triclopyr

 

Herbicide: Picloram + 2,4-D (Group I) (various trade names: see APVMA link)

Active ingredient

Picloram 75g/L + 2,4-D 300g/L 

Rate of product/ha

  • 0.75L for plants less than 50cm
  • 1.0L for plants 5–100cm
  • 1.5L for plants >100cm

Wetting agent

Non-ionic such as BS-1000 @ 100mL/100L water or Uptake™ spraying oil at 0.5L/100L water.

Remarks

Apply as high volume spray 200–400L water/ha.
A new product Grazon™ Extra in addition to containing picloram + 2,4-D amine has a third herbicide aminopyralid which may give it more activity on woody weeds.

Rate of product/ha

  • 0.75L for plants less than 50cm
  • 1.0L for plants 5–100cm
  • 1.5L for plants >100cm

Wetting agent

Non-ionic such as BS-1000 @ 100mL/100L water or Uptake™ spraying oil at 0.5L/100L water.

Remarks

Apply as high volume spray 200–400L water/ha.
