Recommended herbicides

Actively growing:

Jaguar®; Barracuda; Bromicide MA

Herbicide: Jaguar® (South Australian recommendation)

Active ingredient

250g/L bromoxynil (Group C) + 25g/L diflufenican (Group F)

Time of application

Early post emergence of weeds. Up to one whorl stage of weed.

Remarks and other control measures

Apply to actively growing weeds. If crop or weed density is high it will be necessary to use high volume of application e.g. up to 100L/ha.

Similar product Barracuda® will give suppression.

Herbicide: Bromicide MA

200g/L bromoxynil (Group C) + 200g/L MCPA (Group I)

Time of application

Two to four stems with one to three whorls of leaves/stem


Use minimum of 50L water/ha

Herbicide: Fluroxypyr (Group I) (various trade names: see APVMA link)

b) 300–900mL uptake spraying oil (winter fallow)

Time of application

In wheat, oats, barley and triticale apply at three leaf to flag leaf (Zadok 13–39).

Weeds with one to three whorls of leaves: 600mL + 500mL uptake spraying oil for winter fallow.
