A valid waybill is required to be produced for all movements of livestock. Waybills can be downloaded free of charge from the link at the bottom of this page.

Under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Regulations 2013 all movements of livestock are required to be accompanied by a valid waybill.

A blank waybill can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this web page. Each new waybill downloaded will have its own unique serial number as required by the regulations.

Three copies of each waybill must be created. One copy is to be retained at the property of origin, a second copy is is to be retained by the transporter and the third copy is to be retained on the destination property. The three copies can be created by printing three copies of the one waybill after downloading it. You will need to complete each copy separately or use carbon paper to complete each copy simultaneously. Alternatively you can complete one copy and create 2 photocopies of the original. Do not download three separate waybills as each will have a different serial number.

All copies of each waybill are legally required to be kept for at least seven years.

These waybills meet the legal requirement for for movement of livestock. Commercial requirements dictate that a national vendor's declaration (NVD)/waybill will be required for movements of cattle, sheep and goats to a saleyard, abattoir or export depot and for sales to other producers. For all movements requiring a NVD/waybill you will need to call LPA (1800 683 111) for information on how to obtain one.
