The 'Making a difference in farm biosecurity' educational package has been specifically designed for use by staff at agricultural colleges and schools in Western Australia.
Teachers in other states of Australia may need to modify it to suit their specific requirements.

The package contains a choice of four biosecurity-focused lesson plans with supporting teacher notes and resources:
Lesson 1
- Overview of biosecurity
- Class activity - preparing a farm biosecurity plan
- Assignment - students complete a farm biosecurity plan.
Lesson 2
- Overview of biosecurity
- Group activity - Discuss ‘What would I do if…?’ scenarios to gain an understanding of the key aspects of farm biosecurity.
Lesson 3
- Overview of surveillance
- Activity - students use the MyPestGuide app to identify and report pests to the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia.
Lesson 4
- Review of effective farm biosecurity
- Group activity - students develop a plan for a suspected biosecurity incident scenario.
