Wildlife biosecurity

The Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia (DAFWA) supports the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW), who are responsible for the management and care of native animals and birds in Western Australia, by investigating significant incidents of mortality and ill health in wildlife.

DAFWA aims to detect diseases, toxins and other processes occurring in wildlife that may affect human health, animal health, animal productivity, market access, food safety and biodiversity.
