Recognised Biosecurity Groups (RBGs) provide a mechanism under the BAM Act to enable landholders and managers to develop a coordinated approach to control and manage declared pests in their area. RBGs supports and compliments activities that individual landholders and managers are required to do to meet their legal obligations to control declared pests on their land.
The objectives of RBGs are:
- to foster the control of declared pests throughout the area via the formulation, implementation, and review of appropriate management plans and programs
- to encourage integration, coordination and general collaboration of all area stakeholders in pest management matters
- to promote the adoption of sound biosecurity practices throughout the area generally
Each Recognised Biosecurity Group operates across a number of local governments, although not all local governments in Western Australia have a RBG operating in their area.
Refer to the RBGs in WA page for the local government areas covered by each group, and which RBGs have a declared pest rate being raised in their area.
