A Statistical Snapshot of Western Australia’s Agriculture
The Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA) regularly monitors the performance of the WA agriculture sector and updates three major tables. The tables are, firstly gross value of farm production; secondly, general agricultural statistics such as crop production, livestock numbers and meat production; and thirdly the value of rural exports. The primary source of data is the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). However ABS data is generally up to a year in arrears and do not forecast the current season, DAFWA do provide estimates for the current financial year and from May each year, the following season.
