Plans for success in post harvest grain marketing! This page contains information to assist the decision making process when establishing a grain storage enterprise.  Market access depends directly on quality of the stored product at outturn.  The infrastructure installed when the storage is constructed will impact directly on the quality. Large capacity storage is attractive on a cost /m³ basis but restricts that silo to one quality specification.

Aeration and sealing of large storages at construction is not an optional extra but vital for long term management and wide market access. Small silos are more costly /m³ but offer a range of segregation options and quality control, additional storage can be added as budgets permit.
