

AHL provides a variety of services from our laboratories at South Perth and Albany, including testing for diagnosis, export accreditation and disease eradication. In addition to new test development, we also conduct research on livestock disease and parasitic conditions and provide laboratory support for research on animal production.
In addition to diagnostic services, our Albany laboratory is the Australian Reference Laboratory for Footrot and South Perth also houses the Australian and OIE Reference Laboratory for Bovine Tuberculosis.

Animal Health Laboratories offers a range of diagnostic, research and advisory services across a number of scientific disciplines including:
- Veterinary Pathology - including necropsy, histopathology and electron microscopy
- Veterinary Microbiology - including bacteriology, virology, mycology and mycobacteriology
- Veterinary Parasitology
- Veterinary Biochemistry - including analytical services in nutrition and toxicology.
- Veterinary Immunology
- Fee for Service testing - All services, including veterinary consultancies, are offered to the public on a full cost recovery basis in line with National Competition Policy. Fees and charges are reviewed annually. Service fee exemptions apply to suspect exotic and notifiable diseases, specified diseases and government approved programs, and outbreaks of diseases likely to provide new information or an improved understanding of animal health in Western Australia.
Animal Health Laboratories has highly skilled expertise in a number of veterinary specialities for which it offers advanced testing and consultative services including:
