Small Landholder Information Service

Welcome to the Small Landholder Information Service (SLIS). If you are a landholder new to owning and managing a small rural property, then you've come to the right place. If you are an existing owner seeking information or advice on how to do things better then we can help you too.

Running a small rural property has many of the challenges of a big farm and probably more! You may not have the knowledge, contacts or equipment that you need. The Small Landholder Information Service is here to help you.

Your time, money and property are precious so seeking good advice can help you get things right without all of the headaches.

The Department of Agriculture and Foods Small Landholder Information Service aims to help you. The support provided by SLIS includes an enquiry service as well as organising field days and workshops to help you develop the skills and contacts you need. Were also developing a range of information products that include seasonal calendars and topic specific farmnotes that you can take home for future reference.

You can also book in to attend any of the workshops that interest you. There are a range of introductory workshops and a Property Planning workshop that will assist you in getting started with managing your property. You may also attend our range of topic specific field days that include orchard management, pasture improvement, livestock care, weed control and much more.

If you join our service you will automatically receive notification of events that interest you. Click here to download the application form and project brochure.
