Office Brief

Vasse Research Centre is located on the Swan Coastal Plain and the main soil profile is grey sands over organic hardpan at 1 metre depth.

The station is situated approximately 15 kms from the closest town, which is Busselton. The area is renowned for its Dairy and Beef production enterprises. Viticulture is becoming a major industry within the region and there are some smaller agricultural enterprises namely, potatoes, floriculture, aquaculture and deer.

Annual average rainfall for the station is 750mm spread over the months of May September. Pastures are generally subterranean clover and annual ryegrass
