  • Kondinin Group * - a farm improvement group based in Western Australia; producers of the Workboot Series for schools. Website includes ideas for teachers.
  • CSIRO Entomology comprehensive information about insects, including resources appropriate for students.
  • NOVA Science in the News * - short articles from the Australian Academy of Science covering a range of topical issues including salinity and gene technology.
  • Landlearn (Victorian site) * - teacher resources and activities relating to environmental and agricultural education.

  • Cooperative Bulk Handling * - A Western Australian organisation that stores, handles and markets grain. Site includes teacher resources.

  • A&B Grains A Queensland based company that buys and sells grains and seeds for the world market. Includes photo album of grain production and export.
  • Australian Wheat Board the exclusive marketer and manager of all Australian bulk wheat exports. Includes community education section for a background on grain production, marketing and export.

  • The Bean Files (UWA) * - student-focused website about legumes, incorporating teacher resources.
  • Pulse Australia an industry body catering to pulse growers (producers of chickpeas, lentils, lupins etc). Includes information about different pulses.

  • Australian Wool Innovation a research and development company; website includes facts and figures about the Australian wool industry.
  • Woolwise (Wool Coorperative Research Centre) - features wool-related teaching modules for sale online. Targeted at agriculture subject areas but could be adapted for post-compulsory biology courses.
  • Australian Wool Services the owner of the Woolmark label, and involved in the commercialisation of wool technology. Includes information about wool fabric research and technology.
  • Wool is Best information from a range of wool industry organisations about wool production, including animal welfare issues and videos.

Dairy

  • dairy.com.au # - links to information about the Australian dairy industry, including a kids section and teacher/student resources.
  • Dairy Australia * dairy industry body. Their website provides background information and a link to the nutrition education resource Just a Little Bit.
  • Peters and Brownes * - website of the dairy production company. Includes a kids section and information on factory tours.

Meat and Animal Products

  • Meat and Livestock Australia an industry body for the meat industry. Website includes fact sheets about beef and lamb production (see resources then search for schools as target audience)
  • Australian Livestock Export Corporation an industry body involved with livestock exports. Website includes factsheets (under communications) and a video about Cormo Express.
  • Aus-meat Ltd establishes and maintains national industry standards for meat production and processing. Website includes information on cuts of meat; posters for sale from site.
  • Australian Pork Limited pork industry body. Website includes pork nutritional information and recipes.
  • themainmeal * - information about selecting and cooking beef and lamb. Includes recipes and downloadable posters.
  • Australia Egg Corporation Limited egg industry body. Website includes nutritional information and recipes.
  • Golden Eggs # - Western Australian egg processing company. Site includes multimedia tour of processing stages as well as nutritional information, recipes and childrens activities.
  • CSIRO Livestock Industries CSIRO division focused on animal production and health research. Site includes information sheets and links.

  • Western Potatoes * - the statutory marketing authority for potatoes in Western Australia. Website includes order form for free posters, activities, recipes and general information about potatoes.
  • Apple and Pear Australia Limited * - apple and pear industry body. Website includes information and posters on apple and pear varieties and recipes.
  • Australian Citrus Growers Association citrus industry body. Most information geared to growers, but some factsheets can be adapted for classroom use.
  • Australian Mushroom Growers Association mushroom industry body. Website includes recipes and access to an education pack.
  • Australian Honeybee Industry Council honey industry body. Website includes comprehensive information about bees and honey production.
  • Honeybee Australis information about beekeeping. Includes information, photos and recipes.
  • Sunbeam Foods * - producer of dried fruits. Website includes information about dried fruit production and teacher activity sheets.
  • Australian Dried Fruits Association * - dried fruit industry association. Includes free posters and factsheets for schools (see under extension and promotion).

  • Animal Health Australia national organisation dealing with animal health and welfare. Mostly industry information about animal disease issues.
  • Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service * - protects Australia from pests, weeds and diseases. Site includes link to Quarantine Matters school program and comprehensive quarantine information.
  • Plant Health Australia national organisation dealing with plant health. Mostly industry information about plant disease issues.
  • Quarantine WA protects Western Australia from weeds, pests and diseases. Includes comprehensive quarantine information.
  • Australian Animal Health Laboratory part of CSIRO Livestock Industries, centre for disease diagnosis and research. Includes informative virtual tour of the facilities.
