Changes to the Declaration of Invasive Plants & Animals under the Agriculture and Related Resources Protection Act 1976
The Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA) advises that the Agriculture Protection Board (APB) of Western Australia is considering proposals to change the declaration categories of a number of vertebrate (animal), invertebrate and plant species under sections 35 and 36 of the Agriculture and Related Resources Protection Act 1976. It is also proposing the declaration of some vertebrate (animal) and plant species for the first time.
The proposed changes primarily fall into two groups:
- house-keeping matters
- alterations to reflect current operations or management of the species in Western Australia (WA) and a change to the declaration category for European House Borer.
