Weeds
Sub-Categories:
Weeds are estimated to cost Australian agriculture over $2.5 billion per annum. Understanding the weeds and the various methods to control them ultimately reduces costs and improves efficacy.
The weed science team from the Department of Agriculture and Food WA conducts valuable research into sustainable Integrated Weed Management strategies for WA farming systems. WA farmers are encouraged to adopt best management practices for the control of weeds resulting increased crop production and greater profitability.
The research programs are based at Perth, Geraldton, Northam, Merredin, Katanning and Albany with field research activities being conducted throughout the grain belt.
