From 17 March 2008 entry of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and equine reproductive material from all other Australian states is allowed. No equine influenza permits are required.
The movement of horses into Western Australia must comply with normal import conditions including the provision of a signed “Movement of Stock to Western Australia” (AD 1071).
Imports of used horse equipment from all other Australian states is allowed provided they are clean of weeds, seeds and pests.

Equine influenza remains a notifiable disease. If your horse, pony, donkey or mule shows signs of respiratory illness such as coughing, nasal discharge or has a high temperature, you must contact your veterinary surgeon or ring the exotic disease hotline on 1800 675 888.

Exports of horses, reproductive material or gear are subject to the requirements of the importing State.

Any equine that leaves Western Australia will need to meet the import conditions for Western Australia to be allowed to return.
