WA Natural Disaster Relief & Recovery Arrangements

Package of WANDRRA measures to assist primary producers

To assist the recovery of communities whose social, financial and economic well-being has been severely affected by a natural disaster, the State Government has established the Western Australia Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (WANDRRA), providing a range of eligible measures designed to help those within disaster affected communities.

This relief package is designed to assist in meeting the needs of Primary Producers whose assets or primary production business has/have been affected by a disaster for which the WANDRRA have been invoked.

Assistance is NOT provided as compensation for damage/losses sustained, or as a disincentive to self help by way of commercial insurance and/or other appropriate strategies of disaster mitigation. Support is offered on a needs basis.

The WANDRRA is managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services  (DFES).  This Primary Producer package is administered by the Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA) in conjunction with DFES (telephone 9395-9404).

Further information is available from the Information Notes.

To apply for support, an Application Form together with suppliers' invoices, evidence of payment and a tax invoice to DAFWA should be completed and forwarded to the Rural Business Development Unit of the Department within six (6) months of the declared event.

Note:  To complete the online application form, type in your details where applicable (use the Tab button to go to the next item), save the document on your computer with your business name as the file name and email it to rbdu@agric.wa.gov.au with all the required supporting documents.  It is also necessary to print the Consent and Statutory Declaration signing page and have signatures witnessed by an authorised witness. You will also need to print the assets and liabilities page, have it witnessed as noted at the bottom of that page and mail both the consent page and the assets and liabilities signed pages to:
