Farm Forestry Toolbox
Tools for Farm Forestry and Revegetation
What is the Farm Forestry Toolbox?
The Farm Forestry Toolbox software helps land managers plan and manage commercial farm forestry. The Western Australian version includes information on Eucalyptus Oil Mallees (Eucalyptus spp.) and southern sandalwood (Santalum spicatum). Land Managers and advisers say the program is quick and easy to use.
The program is produced by [Expired] Private Forests Tasmania, and has been written by Adrian Goodwin. In 2001, the Toolbox was expanded to include the Western Australian farm forestry options.
The WA Toolbox CD-ROM, is provided free to Western Australian Land Managers thanks to funding from the Natural Heritage Trust.
The WA Toolbox provides a number of tools:
- Stand manager
- Design and cost the planting plan
- Organise a management plan
- Estimate growth rates
- Calculate returns
- Run different scenarios
- Calculation of stocking rates
- Calculation of tree spacing
- Map coordinate conversion
