ENSO Technical Summary
The ENSO Technical Summary is normally produced at the end of the first week of each month. It gives an overview of atmospheric and oceanic indicators of the El Niño -Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon and uses a number of new indices developed in DAFWA. Analogue years are selected each month by a statistical model called an "ENSO Sequence System (ESS)". These analogues can be used as a guide of future ENSO conditions, i.e. El Niño, La Nina or neutral.
