2007nar_takingcare_rstokes.jpgA book has recently become available that you may be interested in. 'Taking Care of Yourself and Your Family' is a resource book for good mental health. It is supported by BeyondBlue - the national depression initiative. The intended uses of the book includes:

                            • A source of basic information about a range of mental health and related issues.
                            • A guide for helping others, or prompting them to seek assistance, in the event of a mental health issue.
                            • A resource of strategies and self-help therapies that had been adapted from some widely used and documented standard psychological therapies.
                            • A resource of photocopiable information and self-help therapies that doctors can use as handouts for their patients.
                            • A resource for use in basic community health education.
                            • A resource for health and human service workers.

Free copies are being made available at DAFWA Offices soon - late July. Feel free to call in and pick up a copy for yourself.
