Livestock movement in Western Australia
Under the Stock (Identification and Movement) Act 1970 and the Stock Diseases Act Enzootic Disease Regulations 1970 all livestock* must meet certain identification and movement requirements.
* Whether they are kept as pets or for commercial purposes, all ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats, deer, bison, buffalo), equines (horses, ponies, mules, donkeys), camelids (alpaca, llama, vicuna, camels) and pigs (including mini or miniature pigs) are considered livestock under the Acts and Regulations noted above.
AD1071 (Movement of Stock to Western Australia updated 4 September 2009)
Form AD 1071. This form is to accompany each consignment of equines, ruminants, camelids and pigs en route to Western Australia. The health certificate certifies that the livestock described meet all pre-requisites.

All livestock moving to and within Western Australia must be identified correctly and accompanied by a waybill. The combined National Vendor Declaration (NVD)⁄Waybill is required by most purchasers (check before you transport your animals) and can be obtained by contacting Meat and Livestock Australia www.mla.com.au or 1800 683 111. If the combined form is not required, you can obtain a waybill book from the Brands Office brands@agric.wa.gov.au or 08 9780 6100.

Importing livestock from overseas and other Australian States and Territories
Livestock imported from overseas must meet Western Australian requirements as well as those of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS).
Form AD1071 must accompany each consignment of livestock en route into Western Australia. A copy of the form must be faxed prior to the despatch of the livestock. This entry document certifies that the livestock described meet all pre-requisites.
To ensure pests and diseases not found in Western Australia do not enter the State with imported animals, the stock must be certified “clean”, healthy and eligible by both the consignor/vendor and an authorised government officer or veterinary surgeon. On arrival in WA they will be re-inspected by an inspector authorised under the Acts at a designated “inspection point”. The “entry inspection” along with any treatments and tests, wash-down and entry certification will attract a fee which is generally charged to the importer.
